Formulating an adaptive logic in standard format has many advantages. One of them is that both the semantics and the proof theory can be formulated in a completely generic way. A second, and more important advantage, is that the standard format warrants that all central meta-theoretic properties (soundness, completeness, proof invariance, fixed point property, …) hold. As soon as it can be shown that the adaptive logic satisfies the requirements of the standard format, all these properties can be proven in a generic way (that is, without referring to the properties of the specific adaptive logic).
